Europrop Concludes A400M Contract Amendment

TOULOUSE, France - Europrop International (EPI) has finalized an amendment to its agreement with Airbus Military for the TP400 turboshaft engine, which powers the A400M military transport. EPI said that the agreement settles all outstanding issues between the two companies.

EPI president Simon Henley said, "This agreement marks another important milestone in the program and highlights the desire of both EPI and Airbus Military to work closely together to deliver an engine and aircraft combination that will set new standards in the military transport market."

The TP400 features a three-shaft configuration, and delivers a maximum power output of 11,000 shp. It has completed all certification testing, and has amassed over 5,000 flight hours.

EPI was created by four European engine companies (Industria de Turbo Propulsores, MTU Aero Engines, Rolls-Royce, and Snecma) to manage the TP400 program.
