NEWTOWN, Conn. - Having been selected as the USAF's KC-46A aerial refueler, Boeing's KC-767 NewGen tanker will fly with Pratt & Whitney's 62,000-lbst PW4062 turbofans. The award is significant for Pratt, as its PW4000 series has held a distant third place in production behind other widebody engines from Rolls-Royce and GE. The tanker award will mean roughly 400 engines for Pratt over the course of the contract.
