November 2002
A New Era at Carmel Forge.
Carmel Forge is pleased and proud to announce the installation and operation of a new, fully automated Robot unit. The Robot was installed in the Heat Treatment Department. This state of the art machine, marks an important mile- stone in the general modernization of our production processes started in 1997. The Robot unit is fully computerized and operated from the control room in Heat Treatment.

Excellent Uniformity and Repeatability of Properties for Nickel Base Alloy Parts.
The Robotic Loader is capable of moving on rails with a swing of 180 degrees to serve both lanes of furnaces. The carry capacity is over 2 metric tons. The most significant and important capability of the Robotic Loader is the extremely short quenching time. The time from furnace door opening to total submerging of the tray in the quenching tanks, located beneath the Loader, is less then 15 seconds. This unique capability is improving significantly the properties of Nickel-Base-Alloy parts.
The Robotic Loader can be operated from the furnaces control room or through an operator sitting in the loader cabin.
This advanced loader is capable of following improvements in the process:
  • Safety of the operator crew.
  • Improved properties of the part.
  • Accurate facilitation of the times set in the fixed process.
  • Elimination of human errors.
  • Improved productivity.

The team at Carmel Forge is excited with this innovation and is looking forward to improve even further the service to our valued customers.
